This transmitter is wireless, and has 4-6 hours of battery life before needing to be recharged. I believe it works with analog and digital televisions and gives you a separate volume control. My father bought this from his hearing aid specialist and decided to return it because he had purchased another option at a yard sale that he preferred. Due to some confusion about the return policy, they did not take the item back. It was tested briefly and repacked back in the box as good as new. This is version 5.0, item # 11741.
