Wie beeinflussen sich die Wahrnehmung des Eigenen und des Anderen? Diese Studie geht dieser Frage anhand der Trias Jahwe-Israel-Völker als Analyse- und Deutungsinstrument nach und bietet erstmals eine systematische Untersuchung der Philister-Sprüche. Mit einem synchronen und kanonischen Ansatz analysiert sie die Völkersprüche und gibt zugleich einen Überblick über Israels Begegnungen mit den Philistern. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Philister nicht nur als Nachbarn, Fremde und Feinde fungieren, sondern vielmehr auch als Spiegel israelitischer Selbstwahrnehmung. Durch die Verbindung soziologischer, literarischer und intertextueller Perspektiven wird deutlich, wie ein komplexes Beziehungsgefüge zwischen Identität, Fremdheit und Selbstreflexion gestaltet wird. <br><br> How do perceptions of the self and the other shape one another? This study addresses this question by employing the triad YHWH-Israel-nations as an analytical and interpretive framework, and offers the first systematic investigation of the oracles against the Philistines. Using a synchronic and canonical approach, it analyzes these texts and provides an overview of Israel's encounters with the Philistines. The findings show that the Philistines function not only as neighbors, foreigners, and enemies, but also as mirrors of Israel's self-perception. By combining sociological, literary, and intertextual perspectives, the study demonstrates how complex relational frameworks of identity, foreignness, and self-reflection are constructed.
